Days just get away

I don't know what happened to the day yesterday.  I started a post with full intention of finishing it yesterday and I just got distracted and never finished.  Some of it was work distractions.  But I was also trying to coordinate some incoming visits with friends.  I am trying to work on some good hotel recommendations.  My life is so centered around town with work and going out that it is hard for me to recommend hotels that aren't fairly central.  So, I give you my Bed & Breakfast...

Recovered

Well, the soreness has seemed to subside today.  Not getting out of chairs like an old lady anymore.  I think I only have two weekends left of long runs until a mini break before the May 24th run.  Last time I ran this, I think I only did two long runs to begin with so I think I am way ahead of the game.  I am just trying to beat the guy at work.  He was much closer to my time on Sunday, so I have some work to do.

Last night, Melinda, Megan and I watched Gossip Girl.  It is finally back on.  It is random how that season works.  A few weeks of new episodes and then re-runs out of no where.  Megan was remembering the good old days when a season lasted from September until May with a mini break for Christmas.  Kind of like school.  These days, actors are lazy.  Then- stinking CableVision shut down at twenty of ten and we missed the entire ending.  Good work cable.  So glad that we pay so much for you and you fail us repeatedly.  Jerks.

Another beautiful weekend

It was another summer weekend here.  Beach days, both days.  I ran the RMS 20K yesterday with Kristen and I think we are ready for May 24th.  The only downside from running that long is it makes me so tired and I need to take a nap.  It is hard for me to nap on really nice days because I feel like I should be outside.  So, I had a massage with Liz in town and then headed to Elbow Beach to meet some friends for wine and snacks.  Last night I was in bed by 9:20 and asleep well before 10.  I was too tired to finish episode 5 from season 1 of the Tudors.  My new obsession...

I planted some cosmos the other weekend.  It has doubled in size and is blooming...

Unwanted Visitor

This morning, around 6:30 am, I woke up to a racket in the house.  Loud enough, I honestly wondered if someone had broken into the house.  But really, what criminal is breaking into houses in the morning?  They are asleep by then.  Anyway, I crept out of my room and down the hall to find a bird in the house.  A few weeks ago, I had come home from sailing to find heavy "evidence" of a bird's presence in the house.  Well, now I have seen it with my own eyes.  I kept asking it to please not poop in the house.  I opened the doors; hid the cat and waved at this thing until it flew outside.  I was tempted to take a picture of the website but didn't want to jeopardize more time to poop with getting a picture.  Now, I am following up with an email to my landlord to get him to screen in the chimney. 

Strawberry

Something that is so satisfying about growing your own product.  My strawberrie plants have only yielded about 12 strawberries but they have been very tasty!  Here is a picture of one from my backyard.

Cheese steaks

Growing up outside Philadelphia, cheese steaks are a very big deal.  People are quite opinionated about who makes the best, etc.  Usually the argument is between Genos and Pats which sit across the street from one another and are arch rivals.  However, my dad prefers a place on Oregon Avenue- Tony Lukes.  It has its own personality and I really like the chicken cheese steaks.  Yum.  A picture of the interior.  Not a palace but the food speaks for itself.

It is a circus around here

Well, not really but my neighbor's house looks like a circus tent.  I guess they are fumigating for bugs or something but I thought it looked hilarious. 

Bacardi

I went to a Bacardi sponsored party last night at RBYC as part of race week.  Not sure what was being sponsored as drink tickets were $8.  And I don't even particularly like Bacardi Rum.
