I don't understand how a work week filled with activities and lots of busy time can pass so slowly and a relaxing vacation flies by. It just doesn't seem far to me. I fly back to the rock tomorrow morning and then straight to work for me. I am just glad that I have another vacation book in a couple of weeks. Melinda and I's trip to the Galapagos is going to be awesome. I cannot wait to lose blackberry contact and really see some very different stuff. And so many activities too with snorkeling, hiking and kayaking. This is going to be a real get up and go vacation. I am afraid that one will fly by too.
Been eating Southern down here. Getting in all the good stuff before returning to the rock. I am sure my cholesterol is through the roof. But the one thing I am missing is the fried pickles. Nothing better with some ranch dipping sauce. It might sound disgusting but sliced dill pickles fried to perfection are one of my favorites. Mitchell and Stribling know what I am talking about...
Well, I did it. A little more than 18, but that doesn't matter. It was long. It was flat. It was straight. And it was relatively boring. I can say that I have come up with a number of ideas for posts, most which I have forgotten since my nap. I can say that my ipod's battery is most impressive and that putting it on a general shuffle makes the music selections much more interesting. I am afraid my flat 18 doesn't match up to the girls' 18 of last weekend. I hope they take it easy on me when I return. I missed my running chit chat with Vivienne and Kristen. They really help motivate and distract of the distance ahead!
Looks like I will be here at least 7 hours. I guess I'll just thank my lucky stars that I got off de rock before the storm hit hard. But I find it crazy that weather in St.Louis affects my flight. The flight was stalled in St.Louis before it could go to PHL before coming here and then Norfolk. I'd like to know why they cannot just send another plane. Jerks.
In other Bermuda news, the Clintons were vacationing at Cambridge Beaches. According to Bermuda reports Chelsea was conceived here 29 years ago. All I can say is too much info.
Well, I made it off the rock. The airport was packed and not a free seat on the plane. Waiting for my connection to Norfolk now. The Weather Channel was live in Bermuda last night reporting on Hurricane Bill from Elbow Beach Hotel. Very cool.
According to CNN.com this morning, Bermuda will be in the clear this weekend from a hurricane hit. Doesn't mean that it won't rain and blow like cats and dogs fighting out there. This morning, you could hear the roar from the ocean at Vivienne's house. The south shore is all stirred up and very angry out there. Not sure rain is in the forecast for today though. I've got golf this afternoon so I am hoping the rain holds off for a while. Still have to pack though!
When the girls were in town, Allison was gracious enough to help my magazine fix with bringing me lots of good stuff to read. Some more intelligent and some less so. So, I was reading August's edition of Cosmopolitan. Guilty pleasure for sure. I am not sure when was the first time I read a copy, but I assure you that the content has not changed much since then. Do I dare say 15 years ago? Anyway, I was actually wondering if they recycle some of the articles, I almost would not doubt it. And I will also admit that I might be getting a tad to old for some of the content. But still, a guilty pleasure is a guilty pleasure.
