McGoogan Sisters Take Scotland

I received this postcard on Monday and it was just mailed on August 24th from Edinburgh.  I thought that was pretty good because I would not get any post that fast from the States.  Postal workers like to send mail marked for Bermuda to various other countries including Belgium and the British Virgin Islands.  

My mom and her two sisters are touring Scotland on a sisters' getaway.  I am sure they are having a great time.  I just hope they have had some warm weather and have stayed relatively dry.  Living here in temperatures always hovering around 80, I forget that summer in other places can actually be cool (besides the southern hemisphere where it is obviously winter.)  
 

Laundry Night Foiled Again

I use this chair as a place to hold the laundry as I sort it and fold it.  Probably because it is close to the TV and a flat surface for folding.  Last night, I left the room to do something else and came back to find someone rolling around in my clean clothes.  Thanks Maddie.

Utter Movie Fail - Rise of the Planet of the Apes

First, don't judge.  Originally, we had planned to see Crazy Stupid Love.  However, like many movies in Bermuda, it was here for less than a week and then disappeared.

So no Ryan Gosling drooling for us.  Boo.

So, it was either Spy Kids 4.  NO.  Or Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  I'll start by saying, I am not into ape movies.  But rottentomatoes.com gave it 83% freshness.  Metacritic.com gave it a 68.

It was AWFUL.  Trully awful.  I have never seen such a ridiculous movie.  Well, okay that is a lie.  But I have never PAID to see such a ridiculous movie.  Run away from this movie as fast as your legs will take you.  I ran from it Sunday morning on my 12 mile long run!

 

HGTV

Everyone knows I love me some HGTV & DIY.  More specifically, Curb Appeal, Desperate Landscapes, Design Inc., House Hunters, I Hate My Kitchen and Sweat Equity - to name a few.  I always like to check out International House Hunters to see if they are anywhere interesting.  Well, the Royal Gazette (Bermuda's newspaper) has an article that they are apparently having 2 shows on people (ex-pats more precisely) looking for housing in Bermuda.  I know one of the girls who is to be featured on one of the shows.  Should be very interesting!  I think they start showing September 4th.  Of course that day, I'll be running alongside Allison, Amy and Tracey at the VA Beach Rock n Roll 1/2 Marathon.  (As long as Irene doesn't wipe away VA Beach!)

Popchips

Have you tried these?  They are pretty good.  I first had them on a JetBlue flight and they actually have them at Lindos here in Bermuda.  Because they are made with popcorn, they are supposed to be healthier for you.  I have had the kettle flavor and the salt/pepper flavor.  I definitely recommend.

Why Marrying a Rugby Player makes for bad photos

The Queen's granddaughter, Zara Phillips, recently married rugby player, Mike Tindall.  Get a load of him and his best man, who plays rugby for a French team currently.  The groom is the bloke on the left with the nose that is smushed to the side and has clearly been broken loads of times.  Best man's face?  Goodness.
