Lizards
Wednesday, September 03, 2008
Lots of little lizards in Bermuda. They are territorial. I have one that lives by the front door and another that lives by the back door. They eat bugs, that is a good thing because I don't like bugs. This little guy lives near the front door...

Labour Day Weekend
Tuesday, September 02, 2008
The weather was pretty good with only a few clouds. I kept myself pretty busy and even got something straightened around the house. I finally got the curtain rods up in the living room and now all I need are the curtains. I also got a lot of things put away and organized. I have a couple of things left in my dressing room to straighten up and I will be in pretty good shape. This summer, every Friday Bermuda has an outdoor movie. Either at a park or on a beach, they have a giant blowup screen they show movies on. At 8:30 there is a kid move and following that a grown up movie. All summer I wanted to go and didn't get the chance. This weekend they showed movies Friday, Saturday and Sunday night- so I was finally able to fit one in. It was great. Like going to a drive in but you bring a beach chair and blanket. Just wished I had done it a few more times throughout the summer. There was also a sand sculpture contest on Horseshoe Bay on Saturday. We stopped by to check out the sculptures. Some were pretty impressive.

Ohhhh Bermuda Grocery Stores
Friday, August 29, 2008
It never ceases to amaze me at the lack of choice and high prices in Bermuda grocery stores. Most are fairly small with little to no selection. I am just glad that I don't have any dietary restrictions. Most of the grocery stores are rather small too. Something you would find in a very small town or vacation town in the middle of nowhere. I am not going to pretend I know the first thing about the grocery business, but I am glad I am not in it. I don't think I could take the complaints all day long.
Modern Mart is the closest grocery store to my house. I would say it is only a bit bigger than a really nice sized Wawa. And if you don't know what a Wawa is, I feel sorry for you.

Harry's Restaurant in the Waterfront
Thursday, August 28, 2008
Well, I was quite unsuccessful with my running attempt after work last night. I did however run over to Harry's to have a few drinks with a couple of brokers. This is the 3rd time I have been to Harry's and I enjoy the ambiance and bar area immensely. The drawback is the high price for food and drink. I have been lucky enough to always head over there in work situations where my drinks get picked up by someone else. It could be a very easy way to shock my next naive date. I do worry about its potential success though. It isn't in the greatest of locations and it is kind of pricey. I guess only time will tell of the clientele picks up, I consider myself one already.

Exercise Wagon
Wednesday, August 27, 2008
Although the class is over, last night Melinda and I went rowing again. Kind of a different experience. The class was so early that we watched the sunrise. This starts at 6pm so we watched the sunset. But to add to the workout, I ran to and from RHADC. I hope that I can maintain this a little and start increasing my running. There is a women's 5K in October that I would love to do. I did it last year when I was in terrible shape and I feel like I need to do well and clear my good name in 2008.
