This is the western side of Grape Bay Beach.  Palm trees and all.  Quite nice to look at.  Hard to get down there during the week now that the sun is setting earlier.  Last night, I did happy hour with Tina and had a good time venting.  Then I headed over to the Mid Ocean Club for a wine tasting with Kristen.  They serve you a lot of wine.  Not probably the best thing to do on a Tuesday night.  Nor going to bed much later than usual.  Will need a caffeine IV by this afternoon.  But I will be headed back there next week to watch some of the Grand Slam which is back in Bermuda this year.  Too bad about Tiger because it would have been great to see him.  It is kind of  a weird tournament anyway since there are only 4 guys.  Then the crowd travels around in a pack and it is not easy to see much.  Regular tournaments are good for the lazy because you can sit at one hole all day if you like and watch everyone come through.  Well, hopefully today is day 2 of my running at lunch and I have rowing tonight.  This week is the last week of rowing after work.  The sun lasts less and less after work.  That is about the only thing reminding me that winter is on its way.

I have a bird of paradise bush in my front yard and whenever I see it I start singing this song.  I do not particularly love Eddie Money but it was on a mix tape back in high school for field hockey and we seemed to listen to it often.  I think it is a peculiar plant but beautiful nonetheless.  Now, I will have this song in my head for the rest of the day...

Hit up Grape Bay for a swim yesterday afternoon.  It is still like summer out there.  This kayaker paddled out with 2 friends who were snorkeling.  You can see my footprints coming out of the water after my swim.

Saturday night, Kristen and I had drinks at Elbow Beach.  It was a nice night and we had a lot of fun.  She gave me several housewarming/birthday things.  My favorite being this royal crown key chain from Buckingham Palace.  And as I needed a key ring for my house keys, it was perfect.  I put it into immediate use.  The weekend was just like summer.  It rained a bit on Friday night when I was out but cleared up Saturday.  I started the day off rowing and then ran errands.  Ended up with Kristen at Elbow Beach that night.  Sunday, when to the dinghy club for the regatta.  But alas, there was no wind and it was postponed to another day.  I did some cleaning and then went down to Grape Bay Beach for a little swim.  It is still like summer here.

I cannot believe it is already October.  It really doesn't feel that way outside.  Still pretty warm during the day.  Water has cooled a little and there is some reprieve at night.  Ants are coming inside by leaps and bounds.  I need to spray around the house again.  Past few days have been greyish with some rain.  I am hoping that the weekend is nice and I get to spend some time outside.  Need to go for a run and might go sailing on Sunday.
