ANTM Cycle 11
Thursday, October 02, 2008
Tyra Banks has to be the most annoying person. I actually think America's Next Top Model might be more popular if they got a former model who wasn't so over-dramatic and self-obsessed. I guess part of that just the personality of a person who chooses modeling as a career, I am not sure. Megs, Melinda and I settled down last night to watch another episode of ANTM and another girl get the boot. We weren't too upset with last night's loser. She was overly confident and looked like someone I played high school field hockey with. But there are two freakishly waif, tall girls with brutally short hair who I could stand to see go. Both look like pre-pubscent boys. Kind of creeps me out.

2nd year anniversary
Wednesday, October 01, 2008
I don't remember the exact day but this is around the two year anniversary for Jen in Bermuda. I started work the last week in September 2006 and started the website a few weeks after that. I cannot believe it has been two years. I certainly won't be here forever but I wonder where I will go next. Back to NYC. Maybe Zurich? Who knows. Lots of possibilities out there. I had no idea the world of insurance would offer these kinds of opportunities. I think it is vital to live other places. It teaches you a lot about the world around you especially when you move outside the States. I definitely learned that I am rather American-centric. Something I try hard not to be any more.

Hovel by the Sea
Tuesday, September 30, 2008
On the left is the Ruhl's wonderful beach house, the "Hovel by the Sea." They absentee host us every year for our annual get together. It is a gorgeous house and we all fit in it perfectly. Back in the day, the Hovel was, well, more of an actual hovel. It was 3 stories but much more compact. The ground floor was often where we were relegated to and it was rather damp. And the shower reminded me of a bomb shelter. And the back bedroom often played host to a visitng keg. However, we all have lovely memories there and I am glad that the Hovel graduated with us and has also managed to improve. Next year will be our 15th year reunion and 15th year Girlz Weekend. It amazes me how time flies. This year is my 10th year Wake reunion in November. It sounds like I am so old- why don't I feel it?

The skies were grey outside, but we had ourselves a grand time. Lots of story sharing, updating and memories. Girlz Weekend 2008 was a smashing success. We may be a few years out of high school but I think we look awesome!!

Rainy in PHL
Friday, September 26, 2008
So, I arrived in Philly yesterday afternoon to grey, rainy skies. We headed off to dinner at Villa di Roma, my family's favorite restaurant in the Italian Market in Philadelphia. It is wet and grey this morning too. I was planning on taking a run, but not so sure in all of this drizzle. If I get my sneakers soaked, I don't have any others to use if it dries up and I want to go for another run this weekend. I am headed to Sea Isle City ("SIC") around 1pm with Steph and Kelly. I even look forward to the ride down with the girls to get caught up on everyone's lives and here about Steph's wedding plans for January. All else is well and I am really looking forward to this weekend. I can't do any work from home because I cannot get the Citrix to work. So, I don't feel guilty about a thing!!
